This list is to be used whenever we find ourselves needing a position filled or need to do tryouts or whatnot. you do NOT have to wait for a spot to be open to fill this out. If your character wants on the team post here now.

If you have forgotten to ask for a broom in your character application you can always go back and request in a comment but make sure to let a mod know about it (preferably Julia or Mel). You don't have to wait for approval to apply though! Go ahead and fill out the app but just note that the broom is pending approval.

ps. broomstyles matter more than the year in our game (due to canon taking place in the mid 90's). Each broom modifying your attributes in different ways: shooting star (0 modifiers), comet (+1 dex), cleansweep (+1 speed), nimbus (+1 speed & dex), firebolt (+2 speed & +1 dex). Also keep in mind that a borrowed broom will result in -1 balance due to the fact that the rider will be unaccustomed to the broom.

Balance+Speed+Dexterity+Strength=10

AND
+1 additional point for every year after 3rd
(4th years +1, 5th years +2, 6th years +3, 7th years +4.)

AND
+1 for every FULL YEAR they have been on the Quidditch team.

example?
A 5th year that just made the team would have 10+2+0
as opposed to a 6th year that's played since beginning of 3rd year 10+3+3

This should be accurate, I ran through the Prophets and added them all in. As for everyone else, they're either a family member or named after a prowrestler/footballer/randomperson.

Each post is 1/7 of a point regardless of how many active players there are.

Each active player must post into the thread to receive the points

If your character is on hiatus they CANNOT post to practice.
> we do respect non-officials hiatuses (ie a shorter than a month and posted in chatter)

Each player is given 48 hours to check the practice threads and post.
If they do not they will be skipped and/or puppetted (for the sake of movement).
They must then post when they come back and then for the normal round occurring (so that the team will not lose points).

It is suggested that teams set up a "calling tree" to let the next person up in the thread know that it is their turn.

Other suggestions are to allow for "out of order" posting so that everyone can post when they are available and to just have one person mark the beginning of each new round.

Cassie: Spotted Snitch first (crit hit) but missed her first attempt and on second attempt fell off her broom (crit miss). She also got clipped by bludgers 2 times (+3 and +5 strength).

Naia: Naia spots the Snitch second. Misses on the first attempt but catches on the second (crit hit). But she took 2 bludgers pretty hard the second making her fall off her broom(+5 and +16 strength).

Ruth Ann: Never spotted the snitch. Got hit by 1 bludger (+9) but escaped the second (-5).

Ramsey: successfully hit the bludger at player 6/8 times, hit the player 1/8 times, 1 weak hit, and got hit by the bludger 1 time, point difference of -26

Rus: successfully hit the bludger at player 7/8 times, hit the player 2/8 times, 1 power hit, and got hit by the bludger 1 time, point difference of -34

*weak hits are hits where it wasn't powerful enough to make it to the target
*power hits are hits where it was so powerful that if it hits the target it will knock them off there broom.

point differences were calibrated as the difference of a successful hit vs the targets evade skills. it measures how close they were to hitting the target (the higher the more successful and the harder the hit).
